Creating a Named Fund
A Named Fund with the Foundation gives you the opportunity to make a gift to the community that has special significance to you and at the same time be remembered for it. It can also give you the pleasure of watching your investment in the community grow as you add to your fund over the years. Any donation of $5,000 or more, which can also be accumulated or pledged over several years, enables you to create a Named Fund. You might wish to create the fund in your own name or in honour or in memory of someone special to you.
When you establish a Named Fund, your generosity will be recognized each year in the Foundation’s annual stewardship report, which is sent to all the Foundation’s donors and friends, published in the local newspaper, and posted on our website. With a Named Fund, it is possible to leave a lasting legacy and at the same time be remembered for it. Of course, recognition is always optional. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, this will be respected.
For donations of $10,000 or more, there are opportunities that you may wish to explore with the Foundation. Depending upon the level of your cumulative donations, you can designate the annual income from your fund to a specific field of interest or to specific charities. You may even wish to become involved in choosing the designation each year. To discuss these options, please contact Carol Biely, the Foundation’s chair.
